About Karen Schaller

karenschallerKaren Schaller is an independent fundraising database consultant. For nearly a decade she has helped community nonprofits  utilize fundraising software to optimize their campaign efforts. With a range of database expertise, she specializes in GiftWorks, GiftMaker Pro, and Sustain fundraising management softwares.

Karen developed her command of data conversions and familiarity with the nonprofit community while employed with the nonprofit management and fundraising consulting firms of Gary Friedmann & Associates and BHC Consulting Group. There, she managed and maintained several donor databases, executed special events, mailings, and public relations programs. Her mastery of computer applications, including database software, Excel, and Word, provided targeted and efficient support for successful fundraising activities, including feasibility studies, direct mail appeals, annual funds, and capital campaigns. Now, as an independent consultant, she brings an extensive knowledge of nonprofit operations to the service of her clients. Karen matches their needs with appropriate database technology to maximize their fundraising efforts.

In a continued effort to meet the needs of database users, Karen provides input to the GiftWorks Users Group, participates in GiftWorks beta testing for major upgrades and new add-ins, and communicates feedback to Sustain. As a service to nonprofits in the community, Karen presents SkillBuilder workshops with the Maine Association of Nonprofits.
